Months ago I read that more than 1.5 billion users log in and watch videos on Youtube each month. In 2014, 64% of internet traffic was due to video. Videos on makeup, family surprising family and all sorts of things. There are moments when you sit down and watch video after video after video and before you know it. 2 hours have gone by.
Now if video plays a vital role in capturing your attention – think about what it can do for your personal or business brand. People look for information and they have no interest in reading about it – they want to see it, feel it, be apart of it. They enjoy the demos. They enjoy seeing things work or laugh when it goes wrong. It gives them an opportunity to connect on a new level and guess what? It is only going to increase.
By engaging with customers online via video you are building trust and community. You are giving a peek or behind the scenes look at who you are and how you serve others. Think back to before and after photos – they worked because people want to see how it works for them!!
In 2019, which is only a few months away – 80% of online content will be videos. Dog chasing a pony videos. Makeup videos. How to give a speech videos. Game cheat videos. You name it – there will be a video for it. Do your videos have to be supper crisp? Nope, think again. People like to see the raw unclean oops we are a work in progress type of videos, ones you can do in front of a window (no darkness please) with very little noise in the background. As you plan your 2018 and 2019 content calendar, add video to the mix.
