Every week a new social media platform opens and closes. Likewise, every second, hundreds of hours are uploaded on multiple platforms. If that isn’t enough, you have to juggle multiple accounts and try to make it work.
But how do you make it work? How do you create dialogue that engages and inspires. Over the next few weeks we will dissect three things you need to have a successful social media platform.
Connect – Have you ever met Oprah? Toured the Eiffel Tower at night? Dined at a posh restaurant in NYC? Even if this has not been your experience there is something that connects you to the stories they tell or the visuals they share.
Think about your story and what makes it a story worth following. Think about what words, visuals and stories people gravitate towards. What emotion do you tap into? What problem do you solve? What is it about your rawness, personality or professionalism do people find attractive?
Once you figure out your story, use it to share how you help others and what you can do for them. Focus on what works and build from there.
Check back next week to learn more about what it takes to engage your audience whether it is an audience of 1 or 1000.
